DepartCart is a post-booking ancillary checkout. Travellers buy seats, bags, and extras after the booking is confirmed, and each sale reaches the reservation.

# Sell seats, bags and extras after the booking

Your traveller buys their seat two days after they book. Right now they buy it from the airline, with the reference number you gave them.

DepartCart is a post-booking ancillary checkout. It adds a cart to the page a
traveller already lands on after they book, sells seats, bags, refund
protection, and priority support, and writes each purchase back to the
reservation without an agent touching it. It works on bookings held in Sabre,
with ancillary content from both ATPCO filed data and NDC.

## Every cabin researched, not generated

63 airlines, listed in full at /supported-airlines.

## Live today
- **Seat selection**: The airline's real map for that itinerary, not a generic grid.
- **Extra bags**: Priced from the fare's own filed baggage content.
- **Refund protection**: Quoted for the specific booking, with no agent in the loop.
- **Priority support**: Your own service tiers, sold as a product.

## A seat map is only worth anything if the cabin is right

Every layout is researched from the real aircraft: the rows that exist, the exits, the bassinet positions, and the seat pitch cabin by cabin. Published in full, so you can check your own fleet before you sign anything.

- 474: Cabin layouts

- 49: Aircraft types

- 1,029: Cabins measured

## Who it is for
- **Online travel agencies**: The volume and the traffic, and the thinnest margin per booking.
- **Travel agencies**: The relationship, and an agent whose time is worth more than the task.
- **Airlines**: Merchandising well at booking, and nothing running after it.
- **Tour operators**: A longer gap between purchase and departure than anyone.
- **Rail and cruise**: The same post-booking window, without a flight in it.
- **Coverage you can check**: Every airline, aircraft and cabin layout, published before you sign.

## Three ways in
- **Tag manager**: A container snippet on the page the traveller already sees. No release from your engineers.
- **Hosted page**: Link or redirect to a page we host and style to your brand. You own the moment, none of the front end.
- **API**: Build the presentation yourself and call the platform for offers, pricing and fulfilment.

The cart is a merchandising surface, not a seat-selling tool that happens to hold
other things. Lounge access, connectivity, ground transport and insurance all fit
the same offer-and-fulfil shape, with the same merchandising rules, the same
currency handling and one payment. And it is built to sit on top of whichever
system holds the booking, because an agency's bookings never all live in one
place.

**Insight:** The [catalogue](/platform/catalogue) sets out every category the cart carries and
where each one stands.

## Frequently asked questions

### What does DepartCart actually do?

It puts a checkout for travel extras into the part of the journey you already own, after the booking is confirmed. The traveller picks a seat or adds a bag, pays once, and the purchase is written back to the reservation without an agent handling it.

### Do we have to replatform, or rebuild our checkout?

No. The cart is added to a page the traveller already reaches after booking. You can introduce it through your tag manager, as a hosted page, or through the API, depending on how much control of the presentation you want.

### Which bookings can it work with?

Bookings held in Sabre, with ancillary content drawn from both ATPCO filed data and NDC. Seat maps and bag offers come from the airline for that specific itinerary rather than from a generic table.

### What is live today, and what is not?

Seat selection, extra bags, refund protection, and priority support are live, sold, and written back to the booking. The wider catalogue, including lounges, connectivity, and ground transport, is what the cart is built to carry and is not on sale through us today.

### How is DepartCart priced?

Priced per completed transaction, so the cost arrives with the revenue rather than ahead of it. There is no platform fee to get started.
